I, Deviant Paper Pre-Writing: Analyzing the Deviance

Q We are beginning to work on the final paper! For the final paper, you are turning everything we have learnt in the course towards your own life and analyzing an act of deviance of your very own. To do this, the paper has three sections. In the first one, you are analyzing the act of deviance that you have chosen. Similar to the analysis we did in the Positive Side of Deviance assignment or the What's Deviant? assignment we did way back in Week 5, you want to think about why the act of deviance you committed was seen as such and what its designation as deviant tells us about our society. This assignment is going to help you develop your analysis by doing some brainstorming. To complete the assignment: You will pick one of the brainstorming activities to do below. It doesn't matter which one you pick: Cubing (Links to an external site.) Freewriting and Looping (Links to an external site.) Clustering (Links to an external site.) Researching (Links to an external site.) Complete the brainstorming activity you selected. Upload a picture of the brainstorming activity (or upload a file if you completed it digitally). The requirements for each activity are listed on the activity. After completing your activity, please write up the answers to the following questions in the text box and submit them as well (you may need to submit the assignment "twice" for each part, but don't worry, I will see both): What did it feel like to complete this brainstorming assignment? Have you done something like this before? What new or interesting ideas emerged from this brainstorm? What ideas do you want to develop or think about more? Did any patterns or themes emerge across your brainstorm? What ideas do you think you will carry forward into the writing of your paper? Why? (Remember, you won't include everything in your brainstorm in the final paper).

The act of deviance was a result of an instigation by the surrounding. However, it was performed for someone’s protection. So, the intention was positive.
